We provide a full checklist, but typically this includes prior year returns, K-1s, 1099s, financial statements, receipts, and general ledger reports. Additional items may be required depending on your structure.
Careful Filing, Built on Organized Books
Tax preparation by IRS Enrolled Agents who know your business, your structure, and your numbers. Federal, state, multi-entity, and owner returns.
If Your Financial Life Has Outgrown Basic Tax Filing,
You're in the Right Place
As your income, entities, and investments grow, tax preparation gets more complex. What worked before no longer provides the clarity or coordination you need.
Backed by IRS Enrolled Agents
Returns Prepared by Federally Licensed Tax Practitioners
Every return at Thornton Tax & Financial Services is reviewed by an Enrolled Agent. EAs are federally licensed by the U.S. Treasury, and unlike CPAs, whose licenses are state-issued, an EA can represent you before the IRS in all 50 states, not just the one tied to a single license. That means examinations, appeals, and collections, at every level, nationwide.

Your return is only as good as the data and structure behind it. We coordinate everything that touches your filing so the picture holds together.
Start the ConversationYou don't have to chase details, fix errors, or connect the dots between advisors. We do that for you.
We Don't Prepare Returns in Isolation
Most tax preparers step in once a year and work from an incomplete context. That’s where gaps start to appear.
We stay connected to your numbers, your structure, and your decisions throughout the year. Nothing on your return is a surprise to us when it’s time to file.
A Structured Process Built for Accuracy and Alignment
Tax preparation isn't a single act of filing. It's a disciplined process designed for accuracy, coordination, and clarity.

Questions Owners Ask Most
What documents do you need?
How early should I start?
The earlier, the better. We recommend starting the onboarding process at least 30 to 60 days before filing deadlines to ensure accuracy and avoid last-minute issues.
What if I get audited?
Our Enrolled Agents are federally licensed to represent you before the IRS at every level: audits, appeals, and collections. If the IRS contacts you, we respond on your behalf.
What if I have back taxes?
Our Enrolled Agents can represent you, resolve past issues, and bring you back into compliance. Back-tax work is scoped separately from a standard preparation engagement.
How is tax preparation priced?
For most clients, tax preparation is included in a flat monthly retainer that covers bookkeeping, planning, and filing together. Pricing scales with entity count and complexity. We quote a clear monthly figure during the Fit Assessment, before any work begins.
Do you handle multi-state filings?
Yes. We prepare federal and state returns for any combination of states relevant to your business and personal income.
Do you prepare my personal return alongside the business?
Yes. Coordinated business and owner returns are part of how we work. Filings are prepared together so nothing conflicts.
What if I need an extension?
Extensions are routine when needed. We file them in advance, plan for the deferred deadline, and keep the work on track.
How does this connect to tax strategy?
Tax preparation shows what already happened. Tax strategy focuses on what happens next. The data from your return becomes the foundation for more informed, forward-looking decisions.
Bring Structure to Your Tax Preparation
Your tax preparation should be aligned with your business, your structure, and your long-term financial decisions. Same people, same table, year after year.
